A Message from the Fire Chief
Welcome to the Tillamook Fire District Webpage,
My name is Daron Bement.
My career in EMS began in the early 2000’s and transitioned into the fire service in 2002. I have been serving proudly as both a full time paramedic supervisor and part time fire chief for 18 years in Spokane County, Washington. I left my posts as Deputy Chief of Operations, Battalion Chief 's of Operations and EMS to come to Tillamook county and serve as the Fire District's Chief.
I am humbled and distinctly honored to take this post and convey my experiences as both a fire service leader and EMS professional that for the 20 plus years has been successful and rewarding. I have found already in the volunteers and staff a level of dedication to the community that is unparalleled and that is difficult to match. I can say with distinction that the group of men and women that make up the nearly 50 volunteers and 4 paid staff that our citizen’s, visitors, stakeholders and community partners can be proud of the accomplishments of our fire district.
As a citizen and/or taxpayer, it is important to remember that our volunteers take valuable time away from their family and friends to ensure that they are prepared to respond to the next alarm or even the incidents themselves. This could be their house or their neighbors, favorite family market or restaurant and so on. This fast fading tradition of serving the community in which you live only to provide safety is fast going to the wayside. It is my distinct honor to lead your community-oriented volunteers on daily basis. I am extremely proud of their accomplishments and dedication each and every day.
Thank you
Sincerely,
Daron Bement
